| 1XI season so far - Tuesday, May 29, 2007Inconsistency, unavailability, the weather and bad luck have all contributed to a below-par start to the season for the 1XI.
They lost their first game of the season away to Leinster, before beating Pembroke away in the preliminary round of the Irish Senior Cup in a closer match than they should have allowed.
Next they were well beaten out in Malahide, before travelling down to play Munster on a track that for the second year running had been soaked through heavy rain and insufficient covers. The match was eventually played in farcical conditions, where even spinners were getting the ball to pop and hit the batsmen's helmets. Make no mistake, this match wouldn't have taken place between two Dublin sides, but when the umpires and opposition side and supporters travel all that way for a game, then they will play in just about any condition.
The next round of the Irish Senior Cup saw the 1XI travel up to Ardmore the following Saturday. Again, the long trip up was followed by a 6 hour wait to see if any play was possible. This time, common sense finally prevailed and the team finally returned late that night having not even come close to playing. Ardmore now have to travel to CYM on Friday 8th June for the re-fixture.
Last Saturday saw the first round of the Leinster Senior Cup. The 1XI were again away to Malahide, and after a bad start did well to restrict them to 330 off their 60 overs. CY made a good start to their reply, reaching 72-0 off 17 at tea. After tea the rain again came to disrupt CY, and the rules of the competition being that any unfinished match must be continued on the next available evening meant that CY stayed out in poor conditions in an attempt to let the game carry on. But the conditions continued to deteriorate, and the match must now resume on Wednesday evening with CYM on 95-3.

| 2XI win again - Tuesday, May 29, 2007The 2XI won on Sunday against North Kildare to keep up their 100% record so far this season. After beating Leinster in the opening game of the season, they chased down 222 against Malahide away the following week, with captain Donal Vaughan making 91*.
Their games against North Wicklow away and North Kildare at home have been comfortable victories, both times scoring over 200 runs and bowling out the opposition for less than 100.
